GARDEN ANTIQUES SEASON BEGINS MARCH 9
The first of this year's big garden antique shows takes place in New York City March 9-11th. The 8th Gramercy Garden Antiques Show includes 80 exhibitors, including The Elemental Garden of Woodbury, CT, whose antique birdbath is shown here.
There's an evening preview party March 8th, 6-9PM, to benefit the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, tickets available at www.bbg.org, and those who attend will be able to purchase items before the formal opening.
The show this year features special presentations each day. Among the speakers are Kate Chura of the Horticultural Society of New York, designers from Town and Garden Ltd, Anne Vick of Al Gore's The Climate Project.
And, don't miss the dramatic entrance garden by Dan Dahl of Gotham Gardens: a pool, a water wall, and a boxwood allee, one side showing a normal winter garden -- the other side demonstrating the same garden with the effects of global warming. Quite a show.
69th Regiment Armory, Lexington Ave @ 26th Street, 11AM-7PM Friday & Saturday, 11AM-5PM Sunday.
