Check out this new website for homeowners, packed with information on how to create sustainable landscapes.
Brainchild of the US Botanic Garden in Washington DC and the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center in Austin, TX, the website provides a simple explanation of the Sustainable Sites Initiative and guides visitors through the process of implementing its recommendations in home landscapes.
US Botanic Garden Executive Director Holly Shimizu says that conventional gardens often work against nature and the focus of the new website is to "enlist the power of all those home gardeners who want to give the benefits of nature a helping hand" by installing a regenerative, sustainable garden.
You can download a workbook and other information at the the website, here.
