Classic modern, of course, dates back quite a while, but it looks quite great in today's outdoor spaces.
The Modernica Studio, based in Los Angeles, is now producing a line of ceramics -- planters and birdhouses, so far -- of simple style with clean lines that are reminiscent of the Case Study Program.
Case Study, in case you don't know, was a program sponsored by Arts & Architecture magazine from 1945-66 to develop new, modern designs for postwar houses that could be made for the masses.
Some of the notable designers involved in the program included Charles and Ray Eames, Richard Neutra, Eero Saarinen, Raphael Soriano, Pierre Koenig, and Craig Ellwood.
Modernica, a design collective, has embraced the Case Study ethos, and they now manufacture furniture, lighting, and the new line of ceramics.
I can imagine these in California and Florida, for sure, but they'd look great in almost any garden setting.
Also check out the line of stainless steel outdoor furniture and other items.
The winner is the hose hockey wall mount for $119. It's hiding in the "see all furniture" page.
