Charles Hess of Hess Landscape Architects Inc in Lansdale, PA received a gold award from APLD for this elegant design in Bryn Mawr.
And what a great opportunity ... a client who repurchased his childhood property and transform it with new garden rooms, a pool and spa, and a new building to house an extensive art collection.
In the pool garden, plants were selected to coincide with summer bloom season. There's also a Formal Garden with an antique fountain; a Hillside Garden, a Secret Garden and a Woodland Garden.
Two Katsura trees flanking the front entrance were heirloom plants installed by the client's father decades in the past, and field-grown azaleas are a stunning spring display in the Hillside Garden.
Overall great solutions for this historic site.
