There are "plans" for sidewalk strips, corners, container gardens, paths and slopes, entrances, backyards, shade gardens, and much more.
Lots of photos illustrate Roth's ideas, and there are nice lists of particular plants for particular places. She also has a number of takeouts on mistakes not to make, such as invasive plants to avoid; vines so heavy they might topple a trellis; clashing colors.
If you're just beginning design, you'll find the book invaluable.
Professional designers might know a lot that's in the volume, but even so, it's a good, quick reference that'll remind you about what you need to know or what might have slipped your mind.
