CHIHULY - NY Botanical Garden thru October 29, 2017
It's been more than 10 years since there's been a major Chihuly exhibition in NYC, so get on out to the NY Botanical Garden, where there are more than 20 new installations, as well as drawings and early works that demonstrate the evolving nature of his art. Over the years, Chihuly has used a variety of media, including paint, polyvitro, and neon as well as glass.
You might want to visit more than once ... including a night visit, when the brilliant glass sculptures will be illulminated for a spectacular show.
The works will be installed throughout the garden ... and inside the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory.
Three new works made from sheets of polycarbonate will be on display in the Native Plant Garden and they demonstrate the effects of reflection and light as day fades into night.
Special lectures, films and tours will be featured throughout the months of the show. If you haven't seen a Chihuly show before, make sure you don't miss this one!
