Think your garden needs an update? Well, before you rip it all up and start over again, you may to consult Revive Your Garden: How to bring your outdoor space back to life (Kyle Books, 2019) by British designer and gardener NIck Bailey.
He explains how to revive your soil; how to prune and identify pests and diseases; how to identify and manage existing plants; and most importantly, how to eradicate and reinvigorate; how to edit and move.
Bailey also takes you through a number of garden styles -- and shows you how to implement your plan. There are before and after overlays -- ie, a "before' photo and then an overlay showing the new design -- it's one of best ideas I've ever seen in a garden book.
Finally, there's a long section on plants that's extremely useful: plants to enhance others with color; plants to grow under roses; plants to grow against north or south facing walls; fast plants for screens and divisions -- and many, many more. If you're a designer or a dedicated gardener, this is a book you'll definitely want on your bookshelf.
