There's a celebration at the NY Botanical Garden of the art of landscape architect Roberto Burle Marx -- opening today -- and it's the largest botanical exhibition the garden has ever mounted.
It's an exhibition that includes his contributions to art, landscape design, plant discovery, and the vibrant culture of Brazil that inspired him.
Brazililan Modern: The Living Art of Roberto Burle Marx runs from today through September 29, 2019. There are exhibitions of his paintings, textiles, and drawings, and there are several gardens you can walk through inspired by his striking designs.
For a preview, you might want to listen to this video by LA Raymond Jungles, who studied with Burle Marx for many years.
Check out the website for a complete list of special events throughout the summer, including music, dance, and much, much more.
